I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Horn when his book, Disrupting Class How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns (co-authored with Clayton M. Christensen and Curtis W. Johnson), first came out. He works down the street from my house. Back in June, 2008 we sat down for coffee to talk about his book. Since then, Michael has appeared at conferences all over the country and has been interviewed many time. His book has also been the subject of discussion all around the web. Laurie Bartels collected many of the interviews and discussions on the book here.This was my first podcast interview. I was nervous about it, but it was a lot of fun. I had some trouble figuring out where to post it and how to embed it on blogger. I ended up posting it on Classroom 2.0 and embedding the player. It seemed to work. I would love to get your feedback on the interview and/or the book!

I enjoyed your interview with Michael, and felt your conversation "humanized" the ideas. This discussion made me feel that changes are possible, perhaps because Michael talked about the positives he has discovered in his months long journey.
In another podcast, someone mentioned that we in the independent school world are somewhat isolated. I definitely agree, and appreciate those who have the resources and time to get out and about sharing what they learn. Thanks for facilitating that sharing! Just finished listening to the podcast. You did a wonderful job; as a great and active listener, as a gentle and engaging poser of deep and meaningful questions, and as a contributor of your own thoughts. You ably set the agenda and Mr. Horn just as ably filled it in. Very nicely done all around.
The nervousness you referenced in several posts and in the interview itself was not evident, but must have motivated you to prepare very extensively.
I will definitely have my graduate students listen to this as they read the book next semester! It will enrich and deepen their understanding and connection with the material, as it has mine.

Thanks everyone. I'm happy to hear that others thought the interview went well. As Jim mentioned, I was very nervous about it and Tweeted and Plurked that fact. Nervousness is actually a very useful tool for me, it forces me to do my homework.
I had met Michael before, and he is very easy to talk to, so that helped a lot.
