It is amazing to think of the web community growing so much over such a short period of time. It seems to me that networks have niches or personalities - and it seemed to me that CR2.0 became a beginner's or a tips tools and tweaks site for the uses of technology.
It was great for me for a couple of years - and I go back from time to time, but these days, home works as Fireside Learnign, which seems to ponder education more philosophically.
I tried firing up with Future of Ed, but I think it choked on incredible growth at the beginning. RSS was a helpful distiller of activity. I'd point people with specific requests to CR2.0 after that, I reckon I'd point to Fireside, or perhaps some of the specialist subject areas such as EFL.
My conclusion is that if you start well - as I did in CR2.0 - all praise to Steve Hargadon, really, then you find a home, but home may not be where you start.Ian Carmichaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14180662271832221042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5396207241794796454.post-87361113805191065912010-03-30T20:43:15.966-04:002010-03-30T20:43:15.966-04:00I just kicked myself in the butt for not filling o...I just kicked myself in the butt for not filling out your survey - I had it marked for follow-up while on vacation (which is now).

Great info as always. I enjoy the Ning platform and belong to over forty Nings as of today. I was wondered if you saw this article about Ning? http://www.chartingstocks.net/2009/03/ning-exposed-tech-company-ning-scams-its-clients/
It would be a shame if the Ning platform tries to become something else. A lot of educators depend on this platform for their social networking, projects, and classes of students.PLNauglehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17589718884625860829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5396207241794796454.post-47203129393473063822010-03-24T12:48:40.785-04:002010-03-24T12:48:40.785-04:00This post and blog is full of great information. Classroom 2.0 was a safe home base to come back to for support and guidance until members felt ready to move on to more sophisticated Online spaces.

While the site is too large for my tastes right now, I do direct folks there still and allow them to see the possibilities of a network that does not require geographic proximity.

Thanks for sharing
KevinKevin Hodgsonhttp://dogtrax.edublogs.org/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5396207241794796454.post-82367677108038019612010-03-23T00:07:47.991-04:002010-03-23T00:07:47.991-04:00Great work Liz, so glad you asked. It's really exciting to see and think of the changes since then!
~Dave.David Trusshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00519890493979141068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5396207241794796454.post-68560689376035716482010-03-22T21:25:57.987-04:002010-03-22T21:25:57.987-04:00Nice!
